Heida and Païen are Valais appellations for the Savagnin grape, which is notably used to produce the famous “vin jaune” (yellow wine) of the Jura. This variety of the Traminer family has been present in the Valais region since time immemorial. It yields a lively, fruity white wine, full-bodied and with a strong character. The 2.2 hectares of the La Leyraz Estate in Saxon have been devoted to its cultivation.

Tasting notes
Attractive yellow color with greenish notes; aromas evoking citrus and exotic fruits; well-structured on the palate with a very attractive vivacity; underlying floral nuances and, over time, a note of grilled hazelnuts; a solid wine that has good aging potential.

Food pairings
Goes well with fish, crustaceans, seafood, but also with mountain cheeses. Can also be enjoyed with traditional Valais specialties such as mixed cold cuts.
