Our top-quality Riserva from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and depending on the vintage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
The Merlot grapes for this wine grow in the best sites of the Tenuta San Giorgio and are up to 30 years old. The Cabernet grapes grow in Vernate. This vineyard is very well ventilated and the Merlot- grapes grown here are used for the Crescendo .In very good years Cabernet sauvignon and Petit Verdot are used for the Arcotondo blend., always depending on their quality.
Vinification in large wooden barrels, aging in oak casks of first second and third passage. The Arcotondo needs a certain maturity to reach its full harmony and flavor complexity. A few years of aging lead to a complex, dense and elegant wine. Wine experts estimate its aging potential is more than 10 years. Arcotondo is a wonderful wine to drink with red meat or venison, but also tastes excellent on its own.
