Palate: Fresh and lean, fruity on the palate. Long-lasting, wonderfully balanced finish.
Food pairings
Asparagus, crab cocktail, moules marinières, grilled crustaceans, sauerkraut, poulet à l’orange, liverwurst, raclette, fondue, spicy mountain cheese.
Terroir
The 1.7-hectare vineyard of Château de Chardonne is one of the jewels of the Obrist winery. Located on a hillside, the terraced vineyards look down at Lake Geneva. The calcareous brown soil contains moraine deposits.
The vineyards are checked regularly by the Brotherhood of Winegrowers in Vevey (Confrérie des Vignerons de Vevey).
Winemaking method
Made using a traditional winemaking method, this Premier Grand Cru is aged in large oak barrels.
