About the wine
The AOC “St. Saphorin” is a protected designation of origin encompassing an area that runs from Dézaley to the town of Chardonne. The vineyards of St. Saphorin are all located in the Lavaux region, which is famous for its picturesque countryside, its terraced vineyards and the reputation of its wines. In Lavaux, winegrowing involves extremes: abrupt slopes, vines that almost seem to hover in mid-air.
The slopes of St. Saphorin are characterized by a calcareous, loamy soil that rests on a base of chalky rock comprised of pebbles joined by sandstone cement.
