Type: Ticino DOC Merlot

Varietal composition: Merlot

Vinification: Vinified in the traditional method with a maceration period of 10 - 13 days at 28 - 30°C in stainless-steel tanks. The wine matured for over than 10 months in two or three year-old barriques.

Color: Intense and deep ruby red.

Bouquet: Intense and complex. With notes of redberry and blackberry fruits, roasted notes, and hints of menthol and liquorice.

Palate: Fresh and fruity, with a good structure. Mineral and elegant, tannins of perfect quantity and strength. Persistent at the finish.

Aging: The Giornico Oro 2021 will reach its full expressive potential beginning in fall 2023 and will continue to develop in character through 2028 and beyond if properly cellared.
